Wallowa Valley Festival of Arts

Since 1982, Joseph Oregon has been welcoming Artists and Art Lovers to the Annual Wallowa Valley Festival of Arts! Please join this special attraction featuring the best of local, regional, and national fine artists working in a wide variety of media. Read on to discover an exciting array of entertaining opportunities awaiting you in our beautiful mountains, canyons and valley.


Celebrate! Our Opening Friday Night lineup includes a stimulating display of fine art, live music, awards, interaction with the artists, hors d’oeuvres, wine tasting, door prizes, and a lovely hand-painted wine glass to take home. In this elegant atmosphere, you are invited to relax and enjoy an entertaining evening with old friends and make new acquaintances. Don’t miss this great opportunity to discover a new artist or find that perfect one-of-a-kind piece you've been hunting for at great value. The night also opens the silent auction. Art Show Schedule 2016

Ruby Peak Film Festival Showing • Wednesday, Sept. 14th, 7:00 pm

Where: Josephy Center for Arts and Culture, Main Street, Joseph
Cost: Free, Open to the Public

Enjoy the winning films of the 2016 annual Ruby Peak Film Festival competition. This festival is held in Eastern Oregon celebrating the creation of short films in just 48 hours. Check out their Facebook page and www.rubypeakfilmfest.com for more information.


En Plein Air Competition Artists' Quick Finish • Thursday, Sept. 15th, 3:00 pm

Where: Josephy Center for Arts and Culture, Main Street, Joseph
Cost: Free, Open to the Public

Our En Plein Air Artists will be at the Josephy Center to put finishing touches on their work, mat, frame, and hang their work. You are invited to follow the artists during the day and watch the final leg of the competition.


Joseph Gallery Walk • Thursday, Sept. 15th, 4:00 pm - 6:00 pm

Where: Galleries on Main Street Joseph
Cost: Free, Open to the Public

Joseph's Galleries invite you stroll the length of our beautiful Main Street in all it's glorious Autum Colors and drop in for a visit. Let our galleries entertain you and be sure to put your name in the hat for a chance to win five free raffel tickets. Our raffel prize is a spectacular, turned wood vase, valued at $3000, by local featured artist Tom Clevenger which is on display at Stewart Jones Designs gallery and featured on our poster.


En Plein Air Reception • Thursday, Sept. 15th, 6:00 pm - 8:00 pm

Where: Josephy Center for Arts and Culture, Main Street, Joseph
Cost: Free, Open to the Public

This year's cadre of Plein Air Artists invite you to top off your evening with their opening reception at the Josephy Center. All work will be beautifully displayed and ready for viewing.  Awards for artists' work will be given for 1st Place, 2nd Place, Honorable Mention, and Artists Choice.


Ruby Peak Film Festival Showing • Friday, Sept. 16th, 3:00 pm and Saturday, Sept. 17th, 1:00 pm

Where: Josephy Center for Arts and Culture, Main Street, Joseph
Cost: Free, Open to the Public

 Opening Night Artists' Reception • Friday, Sept. 16th, 7:00 pm – 10:00 pm

Where: Joseph Community Center
Cost: $25 at the door, $20 in advance. Available online at wallowavalleyarts.org

Our featured, annual Fine Arts Show kicks off with an elegant reception and a chance to mingle with the artists. Select a free hand painted wine glass created by local artisans specifically for this event. Savor sumptuous hors d' oeuvres and sip wine while your eyes feast upon the diversity of fine art assembled for you.  The evening will include a special showcase of local Youth Artists and your first opportunity to bid on our silent auction pieces.

Quick Draw • Saturday, Sept. 17th, 6:30 - 10:00 pm

Raffel Drawing • 9:00 pm

Cost: $5 at the door

Doors open at 6:30 pm - painting starts at 7:00 pm

Join us for a fast paced, fun filled evening where artists create and complete a work of art in 1 1/2 hours while patrons bid on the pieces as they come to life. Enjoy live music, art, hors d 'oeuvrves and no-host wine.  This is a great opportunity to purchase that special one-of-a-kind piece of art you witnessed come to completion and discover a new artist.

Our Raffel Drawing is for a highly prized, turned wood vase by local featured artist Tom Clevenger, valued at $3000. We hope you purchased lots of tickets!
